I partnered with First Fleet Concerts as a junior at Iowa State University and continued my work with them through my graduation. While this involved a heavy focus on social media and branded collaborations with local businesses, my efforts were also heavily utilized on-site as I prepped green rooms at their local venue, facilitated event production with their Hinterland music festival, and assisted in customer satisfaction.
My goal with First Fleet was to strengthen the bond that runs between music fans, their beloved hometown venues, and the local businesses that carry their respective cities throughout the rest of the week. This was done through partnered contests, thoughtfully curated sponsorships, and spotlighting the fan experience.
These efforts were executed through Hootsuite over a vast array of social platforms, including Instagram, Twitter, Pinterest, and Facebook, as well as curating Spotify playlists to highlight upcoming events, organized by genre or festival.
My work with the Midwest branch of Third String Productions was geared toward generating excitement around their respective event calendar. While marketing primarily rock and metal music, my branding included a very informal and personal voice that fits a younger target demographic.
I primarily relied on hashtags and strategically-timed posts on both Instagram and Facebook to keep the events relevant as I generated traction. I utilized Instagram stories heavily to work around the algorithm and stay fresh in the minds of our followers as they opened the app throughout the day.
One of my favorite projects was working with Cedar Rapids' Fields of Yogis summer yoga festival. My main goal here was to promote the positivity, inclusivity, and love of learning through the brand's interactive Instagram stories.
My duties primarily revolved around introducing the instructors, listing the valued vendors at the festival, and giving a brief description of the courses at the 2019 festival.
I executed warm and welcoming branded communications through instructor interviews and in-depth copywriting of the mouthwatering cooking classes available for enrollment. My goal was to create excitement as the event drew closer with repetitive, daily posts in order to stay fresh in the minds of the new and returning attendees, as well as consistently remind our followers of ticket bundles, price increases, and special event announcements.
My goal as the Marketing Manager with Ivory House Photography was to showcase owner Whitney Warne's talent in bringing a client out of their shell and providing a space in which they felt valued, safe, and beautiful. The brand is sophisticated, graceful, and fun, and I carefully curated all of my marketing to reflect nothing short of elegant positivity from all ages.
This can best be seen in my selection of photos for the Ivory House Instagram feed, which included a range of family portraits, senior photos, and shoots to show off a client's respective personality.
I primarily spearheaded the development of her campaign Pump Your Own Gas, which featured Warne in a lavish blue gown as she filled her car at our local gas station. This was by far the most satisfying, impressive, and exciting campaign I developed for Ivory House because it not only hit the brand image right on the head, it sparked themed shoots with her most loyal clientele and reinforced the "why" for new customers to put their trust in her.
Aspens is a music project that has truly pushed the envelope of my marketing knowledge and branding efforts. It has been such a pleasure to combine my professional expertise more closely with my artistic pursuits, and has taught me much about taking on digital marketing with a passionate approach.
Most notably, I observed more than a 10,000% increase in Spotify exposure over the course of a week. This was done through an integrated, creative social campaign on both Twitter and TikTok with paid advertisements and targeted demographics, as well as the incorporation of Spotify playlists and the Artists app.
