Ocean Eyes - Billie Eilish

Join for me some dreamy, 80's vibes as we dive into an underrated hit from the (also underrated) queen that is Billie Eilish.
To start things off, this badass babe is only sixteen years old and she's already taking over the world. Her lyrics are emotionally charged, raw, and unapologetic, which compliments her soulful, delicate vocals in a way I never knew I needed. Not only is she a force to be reckoned with on the music front, but she's vocal about rebelling against standards set for women in the industry, which I'll support all day.
Eilish's EP, don't smile at me, is one of the most beautiful records I've come across, both lyrically and instrumentally, and her ethereal electro-pop sound doesn't go unforgotten. It's easy to tell that the California-based singer was raised in a household of actors and musicians, as "Ocean Eyes" was produced and co-written with her brother Finneas O'Connell of The Slightlys. (I'm No Good is a certified bop) Not to mention, she recently collaborated with Khalid on her latest hit "lovely," which is what heaven must sound like.
Catch her on Instagram at @wherearetheavocados (yeah, you read that handle correctly 🥑), and maybe take a scroll down my good friend Liz's feed at @estorie to find some killer live shots while you're at it.
Bonus points: check out the Astronomyy remix of "Ocean Eyes" for more vibes.
